Schools to commemorate 1973 Polytechnic uprising on Monday
Schools that were forced to close last Friday due to the bad weather will hold events marking a student uprising against Greece’s military dictatorship on Monday.
The decision to postpone the events to Monday was announced by the Education Ministry late on Friday.
In a statement, the ministry said that the two hours traditionally dedicated by Greek schools to events commemorating the November 17, 1973, student uprising will be observed on Monday.
Regional authorities ordered the closure of all schools in Attica on Friday due to heavy storms that came on the back of flash floods.
