Businessman Leonidas Bobolas denies wrongdoing in waste management probe
In a letter sent to Kathimerini, the businessman Leonidas Bobolas has denied any wrongdoing with regard to a criminal investigation that has been launched in Greece into waste management contracts undertaken by him in Cyprus.
“I have not been involved in any unlawful conduct and firmly believe that my law-abiding conduct will be confirmed in proceedings to follow,” Bobolas wrote.
“As far as I am concerned, I have fully explained my position in relation to this case to the competent judicial authorities of my home country and, up to this date, I have not been charged with any offense,” he added.
As for the Cypriot request for his extradition, Bobolas noted that it was “unanimously turned down” by the Athens Appeals Court. He stressed that he is prepared to “fully cooperate” with the judicial authorities in their inquiry.
