Rouvikonas attacks social security collection office in Athens
A group of anti-establishment protesters smashed windows, glass counter partitions and computers at a downtown Athens branch of a state insurer on Thursday morning.
The attack on the IKA Social Security Foundation’s collections center on 28 Pireos Street near Omonia Square was claimed by Rouvikonas (Greek for Rubicon), which has been behind dozens of similar assaults on state and private agencies.
The group posted a proclamation on an anarchist website saying the attack was designed to express support for Greeks who face the threat of having their homes seized because of debts to the state.
