Medical board worried by bogus doctor claims

The Athens Medical Association on Tuesday expressed concern at the fact that a non-medical professional alleged to have been practicing as a doctor for years has not been stopped despite the association’s appeal to a prosecutor three years ago.

According to the AMA, the individual in question has a forged doctor’s qualification and has been working for years as a cardiologist in cooperation with sports clubs.

As he is not a member of the association, it cannot take action and has therefore appealed to judicial authorities to intervene.
