Tsipras rounds up Chicago trip ahead of talks with Lagarde in Washington
After a weekend of talks with Greek-American entrepreneurs in Chicago, Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras has a full program of meetings and talks in the city on Monday before flying to Washington where he is to meet in the afternoon with International Monetary Fund chief Christine Lagarde.
The first item on Tsipras's agenda on Monday is a speech at the Chicago Council on Global Affairs followed by a visit to to the 1871 Chicago's Technology and Entrepreneurship Center.
Tsipras is then scheduled to meet with Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel followed by a meeting with Illinois Governor Bruce Rauner.
The Greek premier and his ministerial delegation are then to fly to Washington where Tsipras is due to meet Lagarde at 5.30 p.m. local time.
After that Tsipras is to dine with officials of the American Hellenic Institute and the American Hellenic Educational Progressive Association.
On Tuesday Tsipras is to meet with US President Donald Trump for talks that are being closely watched in Europe followed by a meeting with Vice President Mike Pence on Wednesday.
