Tsaknis resigns as ERT chairman
Casting aspersions on the leftist-led government and unionists, Dionysis Tsaknis on Wednesday quit as chairman of ERT after two years at the helm of the country’s state broadcaster.
Tsaknis, a popular Greek singer-songwriter, stepped down after disagreeing with the makeup of the new board of directors appointed by the government.
In a statement, Tsaknis slammed the government, Digital Policy Minister Nikos Pappas and Panagiotis Kalfayiannis, the head of the ERT workers’ union, indicating that they had decided on the makeup of the new board without consulting him.
