Messinia forest fire successfully doused

A fire that broke out in a forested area in Ano Melpeia in Messinia, southern Greece on Friday was brought under control late Saturday.
The blaze, which did not threaten residential areas, was put out by 48 firefighters with the use of 24 fire engines and a helicopter.
