Dutch national arrested for smuggling cocaine into Greece

Police at Athens International Airport have arrested a 20-year-old Dutch woman on charges of drug smuggling, it was announced on Thursday.

The young woman had flown into Athens from Amsterdam when she was intercepted and her luggage was searched. There, hidden in the lining of a suitcase, officers found 10 plastic-wrapped parcels containing a total of 2.1 kilograms of cocaine. They also confiscated 700 euros in cash and a mobile phone.

Police are investigating the possibility that the 20-year-old may have been working for a larger drug-smuggling network.
