Turkish jets entered Greek air space, again
Two Turkish fighter jets violated Greek national air space over the Aegean Tuesday afternoon west of Chios.
The two F-16s entered Greek air space between Lemnos and Lesvos shortly before 2 p.m. and were chased out by Greek jets, exiting in air space between Chios and Samos.
Also on Tuesday Turkish authorities issued the latest in a series of navigational telexes, reserving international waters west of Lesvos for military exercises.
Turkey has ratcheted up tensions in the Aegean in recent weeks amid domestic upheaval and as Cyprus prepares to start offshore drilling for hydrocarbons.
