Sorras associates given time to prepare their defenses
A Greek magistrate Friday granted three alleged associates of Artemis Sorras, the self-proclaimed trillionaire and leader of the ultranationalist Convention of Greeks movement, additional time to prepare their defenses against multiple criminal charges including racketeering, fraud and money laundering.
The three suspects were given until June 21 to offer their explanations following a prosecutor’s investigation into whether Convention of Greeks operated as a criminal organization.
Sorras himself remains at large. His lawyer on Friday visited the same magistrate, telling him he did not know whether Sorras intends to give himself up.
