Journalists to walk off job
The Greek journalists’ union (ESHEA) has announced a 24-hour strike starting at 6 a.m. Tuesday until the same time on Wednesday to protest against the new batch of austerity measures whose implementation the government has agreed with Greece’s creditors in order to conclude the second review of the country’s third bailout.
“We are reacting against the new bailout commitments which are hitting the Greek people, and especially people working in the media,” the union said in a statement.
The measures have also prompted Greece’s two largest public and private unions, GSEE and ADEDY, to call a nationwide 24-hour-strike for Wednesday.
