Refugee who set self on fire last month dies

A Syrian man who set himself alight on March 30 at the Vial detention center on the island of Chios died on Monday, authorities said.

The 29-year-old man had been airlifted to the Evangelismos hospital in Athens with burns covering around 90 percent of his body.

A policeman who also suffered burns in the incident as he tried to put out the flames, was still receiving treatment at an Athens hospital.
