Farmers to drive dozens of tractors into Thessaloniki
Farmers from northern Greece are to drive dozens of tractors into central Thessaloniki on Thursday to join a rally set to begin at 2 p.m.
The rally is being organized to coincide with the launch of the 10th international Zootechnia agricultural festival by farmers who went to draw attention to their opposition to recent increases in the taxes and social security contributions that they pay.
In an ongoing protest, farmers have used their tractors to block key road junctions in central and northern Greece. |
The Evzoni border crossing is to remain blocked through Friday while farmers are also planning to try and block the Promachanos crossing.
