Gov’t launches drive for social inclusion of Roma

Alternate Minister for Social Solidarity Theano Fotiou on Wednesday inaugurated a special secretariat that is to focus on improving the social inclusion of the country’s Roma population and tackling the poverty within the community.

In a meeting with the country’s regional governors, Fotiou discussed the state of some 370 Roma settlements across the country, categorizing the camps according to the extent of the deprivation there.
