National Council on Foreign Policy to discuss Cyprus Friday

Greece’s National Council on Foreign Policy (NCFP) will meet on Friday to discuss developments regarding the ongoing Cyprus talks, the Foreign Ministry announced Monday.

The council will meet under Foreign Minister Nikos Kotzias, the statement said.

Meanwhile, in comments made Monday, Cyprus President Nicos Anastasiades said Nicosia expected Turkey to take practical and concrete steps towards a Cyprus peace settlement, particularly during the multilateral conference on Cyprus in Geneva in January 9-11.

Althought “remarkable progress” had been made, the Greek Cypriot leader said, differences remained on several issues.
