Fyssas family lambasts gov’t MPs

The family of slain anti-fascist rapper Pavlos Fyssas has accused members of the coalition government of attempting an “outrageous whitewashing of fascism.”

In a statement Wednesday, the family referred to recent appearances by government officials alongside neo-Nazi MPs, as well as comments made by deputies that the family said “insulted the memory” of the victims and “effectively legalized” the violent activities of Golden Dawn members and supporters.

Fyssas was stabbed to death in Keratsini, near Piraeus, in September 2013 by GD member Giorgos Roupakias, who has confessed to the murder.

The Golden Dawn trial began in 2015 with more than 60 defendants, including 16 GD MPs, facing a variety of charges, including being part of a criminal organization.
