Illegal steroids racket dismantled
Greece’s financial crimes squad has dismantled a ring involved in the manufacture, supply and trafficking of performance-enhancing drugs.
Authorities said that 12 suspects are being investigated in connection with the racket, including one police officer serving in a department tasked with dealing with sports violence.
Among the suspects is an unidentified soccer agent who is currently on the run, police said.
The owners of a bodybuilding club in Thessaloniki, northern Greece, are also being investigated in connection with the case.
The investigation was launched after employees of a courier company notified authorities that they had found a parcel containing illegal substances.
