Naxos fishing boats to supply nearby islands as PNO strike continues
Farmers and livestock farmers on Naxos reportedly used fishing boats on Friday in order to transport supplies, such as dairy products, to neighboring islands, following an extended strike by Greece’s seamen's union, PNO, which has resulted in no ferry services.
Reports suggested the farmers and livestock farmers would continue supplying islands in the coming days.
Meanwhile, the municipality of Ierapetra on Crete has called for the island to be declared in a state of emergency due to major problems resulting from the ongoing industrial action.
