Kammenos: Erdogan is a ‘ruthless dictator’
In the wake of recent comments by Turkish officials which were widely viewed as a challenge to Greek sovereignty, Greek Defense Minister Panos Kammenos on Thursday said that Greece was ready to protect its borders and called Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan a “ruthless dictator.”
“If they threaten our country, they will meet with our response and they will know that we shall not make concessions in the name of diplomacy to issues of national sovereignty,” Kammenos told a radio interview.
In the same interview, Kammenos, who is also leader of the nationalist coalition partner Independent Greeks, described Erdogan as a “ruthless dictator who is at the moment threatening our home.”
“We can all sleep peacefully at night because the Greek armed forces have a high morale and level of professionalism,” he said.
