The Acropolis through Obama’s eyes
The White House has released a video of outgoing President Barack Obama’s visit to the Acropolis and the Acropolis Museum on Wednesday, on its Twitter account.
In the video, President Obama is seen being given a private tour of the Acropolis by Dr Eleni Banou and the Acropolis Museum by its director, Dr Dimitrios Pantermalis.
The US President talks on camera about the notions of democracy and the rule of law which developed in Greece in antiquity, while highlighting the continuity that exists in the values of the ancient and the modern world.
“We view ourselves as part of a broader humanity and a community of nations that can work together to solve problems and lift up what’s best in humanity,” Obama concludes.
