Tsipras calls for Greece to enter QE program early next year
Greek PM Alexis Tsipras on Friday told a European Union summit that those involved in the country’s bailout program had to keep their part of the deal.
Speaking to the press following the summit, Tsipras said that he told his European counterparts that Greece needs to enter the European Central Bank’s quantitative easing (QE) program in order to attract investment.
The Greek premier said he hoped for a positive development that would see Greece entering the program in early 2017, a move that would signal to investors that the country had moved beyond the crisis and uncertainty.
