Gov’t planning secretariat for Roma community
Interior Minister Panayiotis Kouroublis on Monday announced the government’s intention to establish a special secretariat that would allow representatives of the country’s Roma community to have a greater say in the decision-making process on matters that concern them.
Kouroublis said he has proposed the establishment of an association of representatives from the country’s different Roma clans that would be in a position to put forward recommendations for improving the community’s living conditions, employment options and education opportunities.
