ND blocking efforts to fight corruption, PM says
Leftist Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras has accused the country’s conservative opposition of obstructing the government’s efforts to crack down on the “triangle of corruption.”
Speaking during a scheduled debate about education in Parliament Wednesday, Tsipras attacked New Democracy for questioning the legitimacy of a recent auction for nationwide television licenses.
“You are lashing out in defense of the darkest power web of the post-dictatorship period, a web built by media barons with New Democracy and PASOK,” Tsipras said.
The opposition has slammed the recent auction for lacking transparency and a proper vetting process for candidates.
