Fire at migrant camp in Thessaloniki port
Firefighters and coast guard officers rescued dozens of migrants from a facility near the Thessaloniki Port Authority headquarters on Saturday after a fire broke out there for reasons that were not clear at the time.
A team of 12 firemen managed to bring the blaze under control but not before it had destroyed much of the camp, including beds and mattresses.
None of the migrants was injured though one was transferred to a local hospital to undergo medical checks.
Authorities in Thessaloniki were seeking alternative accommodation for the migrants.
