Police arrest Ileia cannabis farmer

A 66-year-old man was arrested on Monday on charges of cultivating a plantation of 80 young cannabis trees in the region of Ileia, southern Greece.

Police had launched a crackdown in response to a proliferation of similar plantations in the area.

They said they also found a manual on how to grow cannabis trees in the suspect’s possession.

According to reports, the plantation was in the area of Markisia.

The suspect appeared before a prosecutor later on Monday.
