Athens police officer accused of beating minors
A 27-year-old police officer who works at an Attica precinct faces charges of causing bodily harm to two Romanian minors, authorities said on Monday.
The charges against the officer were brought by the minors and their parents, who said the youngsters were beaten by the policeman on Sunday when they were taken to the precinct for an ID check.
The officer was detained and subsequently freed, while the case file was submitted to an Athens prosecutor.
