Deal to attract international film producers
The Hellenic Film Office has struck an agreement with the Regional Authority of Central Greece that aims to boost foreign film productions in the country.
The HFO is a cluster of 15 companies with expertise in audiovisual productions – mostly cinema and TV programs – that aims to make it easier for international companies to film on location in Greece.
“The aim of our cooperation is to make the region film-friendly with short- and long-term benefits, to tourism for example,” said HFO chief Panagiotis Papahatzis.
For his part, Regional Governor of Central Greece Costas Bakoyannis hailed the agreement as a project that will lure foreign productions which will bring “jobs and financial benefits for everyone.”
“Our region and the whole country for that matter has a comparative advantage of spectacular landscapes,” he said.
