Rail workers to continue stoppages until Thursday
Workers on the OSE national and Proastiakos suburban railways will continue work stoppages until Thursday, their union said on Tuesday.
Workers are protesting the government’s plan to privatize Trainose, the company that operates all passenger and freight trains on OSE lines. Freight trains will be immobilized until Sunday.
They are also calling on the government to reintroduce a collective labor contract for all rail workers.
Disgruntled railway staff have been staging strikes and walkouts over the past couple of months to protest the privatization, which so far has attracted just one bidder.
