Doctors offered bonus to work on remote Greek islands
The Regional Authority of the Southern Aegean is offering doctors a 450-euro monthly bonus for three years to fill 85 vacancies at understaffed island hospitals.
The move is aimed at combating staff shortages at medical centers on far-flung islands and remote areas of larger islands.
The Regional Authority of the Southern Aegean was the first to introduce incentives for doctors more than a year ago, setting a precedent for other authorities around the country suffering from similar staff shortages.
