One of the five people arrested last week near Syntagma Square, central Athens, in connection with a fortunetelling scam has been remanded in custody, authorities said on Monday.
Three others were conditionally released while a fifth suspect was released unconditionally.
The suspects had been rounded up on suspicion of extracting thousands of euros from gullible clients who were promised help to deal with problems foreseen in their future.
The 44-year-old woman who was remanded denied all charges.
According to police, one of the suspects had managed to extract 52,500 euros from one of her clients, claiming she was able to prevent problems that she foresaw.
