Church of Greece hands out food packages to poor
Employees of the Apostoli charity run by the Church of Greece on Friday distributed food packages to 200 low-income families on the island of Limnos in the northern Aegean, the first such delivery in the region.
Charity representatives have already delivered a total of 2,984 packages of food to 2,674 families in other parts of the country.
The food program is being conducted by Apostoli in cooperation with the Labor and Social Insurance Ministry, which assesses applications for inclusion in the program submitted by would-be beneficiaries.
