Tsipras to address Council of Europe parliamentary assembly in Strasbourg
Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras was expected in Strasbourg on Wednesday to address the parliamentary assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE).
The summer session of PACE, which brings together parliamentary representatives of the council’s 47 member countries, this year focuses on several issues including terrorism and the refugee crisis. The assembly was on Wednesday set to debate a report titled “Refugees at risk in Greece.”
The Greek premier was expected to meet with Thorbjorn Jagland, the secretary-general of the Council of Europe, before addressing the assembly.
