Suspect arrested for 1997 double homicide
A 53-year-old Greek has been arrested for allegedly carrying out a double homicide in the area of Acharnes, northwest Athens, in 1997.
According to authorities, on January 28 of that year, the suspect, who was identified by police studying the cold case through his palm prints, and another two assailants, entered an apartment where a 54-year-old man lived with his wife, 54, their daughter and their 33-year-old son-in-law.
The perpetrators allegedly shot the younger man in the face before shooting his father-in-law in the head. Both men died of their injuries, while the 54-year-old woman sustained hand injuries.
Authorities are still searching for the other two assailants.
