Prosecutors’ union mulls strike action
Greek prosecutors appear to be planning an open-ended strike to protest the impact of austerity, including pension cuts and tax increases, on their profession. The union representing the country’s prosecutors has called for them to meet on Thursday, June 16, to decide on their course of action.
If the prosecutors go ahead with their action, it will deal a further blow to court proceedings which have been paralyzed by a protracted lawyers’ strike that started in January.
