Special guard tied to hairstylist attack is suspended
A 29-year-old police special guard believed to be one of three assailants who carried out an attack against hairstylist Panos Kallitsis outside his home in January has been suspended from duty.
The police officer was detained on Friday on suspicion of ambushing the 41-year-old victim with his accomplices as the latter entered the garage area of his home in his car.
The hairstylist, who was accompanied by his wife, was shot in the chest and legs. Reports suggested the victim was carrying a bag containing cash which the assailants did not take.
