Atalanti doctor allegedly attacks girlfriend with hot iron

Police in Atalanti, central Greece, have arrested a doctor for allegedly using a hot iron to assault his girlfriend because he suspected she was having an affair.

According to reports, the 45-year-old woman, who was also the doctor’s secretary, suffered second-degree burns on various parts of her body, including her head.

She initially refused to report the incident, telling hospital staff the injuries were caused by burglars that barged into her house.

But she eventually changed her story, leading to the arrest of the 52-year-old doctor on Tuesday.
