Swimming gradually being introduced at Attica public schools

A pilot scheme inducting swimming into physical education classes at state-run primary schools in Attica was launched on Monday.

Until now, swimming has only been available as a private extracurricular activity.

A total of 23 schools and 43 third- and fourth-grade classes are taking part in the scheme. Thirty swimming instructors have been hired to teach the children who will be taking part.
