Greek ferries to resume service on Tuesday after four-day strike
Greek ferries are to resume their services on Tuesday following a four-day strike after the union representing the country's seamen, known as PNO, decided not to further extend its action.
The Panhellenic Seamen's Federation issued a statement thanking seamen for their action and passengers for their understanding, noting that it was resuming its action in spite of the passage of a bill merging pension funds and introducing new pension cuts and higher social security contributions.
The action had left ferries moored in ports across the country and had coincided with the return of Greeks to their places of work following an extended break for Orthodox Easter.
