Woman believed to have swallowed nearly one kilo of cocaine intercepted at Athens airport

Officers of the police’s narcotics unit on Wednesday detained a 32-year-old Venezuelan woman after determining that she had swallowed nearly a kilogram of cocaine in 88 packages.

The woman arrived at Athens International Airport on a flight from Sao Paulo via Abu Dhabi.

Police believe the 32-year-old belongs to a drug racket that has been smuggling large quantities of cocaine from Latin America to Greece.
