Man, 26, remanded for allegedly beating neighbor to death over noise dispute
A 26-year-old man alleged to have carried out a deadly attack on an elderly neighbor following an argument about a noisy party in an apartment block in Kalamaria, Thessaloniki, was remanded in custody on Wednesday.
The 26-year-old was remanded after an investigating magistrate dismissed the young man’s claims that he punched the victim just once.
The row is believed to have started when the 76-year-old asked the younger man to keep the noise down in the early hours of Thursday morning.
The 26-year-old is said to have refused and beaten the elderly man following an argument.
A coroner found that the 76-year-old died of serious head injuries.
