Ex-New Democracy MEP named head of Institute for Democracy
Former New Democracy MEP Rodi Kratsa was named the president of the Constantinos Karamanlis Institute for Democracy on Monday.
She was appointed by New Democracy leader Kyriakos Mitsotakis, who also named the nonprofit organization’s 12-member executive board.
Kratsa, a sociologist, served in the European Parliament between 1999 and 2009.
Meanwhile, former prime minister Costas Karamanlis on Monday attended the funeral of his longtime adviser Yiannis Angelou, who died on Saturday.
“We were side by side for 35 years, in the good times and bad,” said Karamanlis in his eulogy.
