Athens Airport closed Thursday due to strike

No commercial flights will arrive at or depart from Athens International Airport on Thursday due to the participation of the Hellenic Civil Aviation Authority, which includes air traffic controllers, in a nationwide strike called by the country’s public sector union, ADEDY, to protest the government’s pension reform plans.

ADEDY said it will also stage a rally in downtown Athens, starting at 11 a.m.
