Survey finds majority of Germans against Grexit
The majority of Germans object to a Greek exit from the eurozone, according to a new survey.
The YouGov poll which was published Wednesday in Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung (FAZ) found that only 33 percent of Germans would prefer a so-called Grexit, against 49 percent who want Greece to remain part of Europe’s common currency area.
The poll marks a shift since March last year, when only 23 percent of respondents said the debt-hit country should keep the euro while a 59 percent majority held the opposite view.
