Parliamentary debate on justice system postponed in wake of Brussels attacks

A debate scheduled to take place on Tuesday evening in Greece’s Parliament to discuss the state of the country's justice system has been postponed in the wake of the deadly terror attacks in Brussels, government spokeswoman Olga Gerovasili said.

Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras reportedly spoke on the telephone with New Democracy opposition leader Kyriakos Mitsotakis and agreed to postpone the debate until next week.

The debate was expected to be a fierce one after government coalition partner Panos Kammenos, who is also defense minister, had vowed to make public the names of state officials and influential business leaders he claims are involved in financial scandals.

Kammenos and his counterpart at the Citizens’ Protection Ministry were meeting with Tsipras on Tuesday to discuss Greece’s response to the Brussels attacks.
