Full support to gov’t, says Kammenos
Defense Minister and Independent Greeks leader Panos Kammenos on Thursday said that his is party would support the government through the end of its four-year mandate.
Speaking to the press following a meeting of the right-wing party's Parliamentary group on Thursday, coalition partner Kammenos did not reiterate his demand for the resignation of Migration Policy Minister Yiannis Mouzalas.
Kammenos called on Mouzalas to resign after the latter referred to the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia (FYROM) simply as “Macedonia” in an interview with Skai TV on Tuesday. Mouzalas subsequently issued an apology which Kammenos said would not suffice.
A decision on whether or not Mouzalas will step down following what he called a “gaffe” would be reached after a crucial two-day EU Summit on the refugee crisis ends in Brussels on Friday, the government said on Wednesday.
