Dentists warn of misleading ads for teeth whitening

The Attica Dental Association (OSA) is warning people to steer clear of teeth whitening procedures performed by unlicensed dentists.

The association said it has received numerous complaints from people who have fallen prey to misleading advertisements offering procedures that are performed by unqualified dentists.

According to the president of OSA, Athanasios Ifantis, certain companies offer cosmetic services that also include teeth whitening.

“This is not cosmetics, as is misleadingly portrayed, but a therapy that must be conducted by a dentist in an area that has the required licensing and documentation.”
