Arson suspects arrested in Athens
A father and son were arrested in the northern Athens suburb of Neo Psychico on suspicion of attempted arson, police said on Wednesday.
The two men, aged 63 and 21, were spotted while driving around the neighborhood in circles.
Police officers found that the car they were using was uninsured.
They then searched the vehicle and discovered three plastic bags containing a flammable liquid, a plastic container with the same liquid and a rucksack containing materials for lighting a fire.
The younger man was also found to be in a possession of a knife.
Both men’s homes were searched after their arrest.
Police did not say what the alleged arsonists’ target was.
