Survey finds bullying commonplace at Greek schools
One in eight (13.2 percent) pupils in junior and senior high has been physically bullied at school, according to a new nationwide survey.
More than half (56.5 percent) said they had been the target of verbal attacks from their classmates, according to research carried out by Vassiliki Artinopoulou, Thomas Babalis and Vassilis Nikolopoulos between December 2015 and January 2016.
“The issue of bullying at school is real and must be dealt with courageously on the one hand, but calmly and far from excesses on the other,” said Education Minister Nikos Filis, who presented the report.
