Private school teachers call for checks
The Federation of Private School Teachers (OIELE) called on Education Minister Nikos Fylis on Friday to conduct checks on private schools that have been given operating permits despite owing money to their employees and the state.
“They either have to pay the millions they owe or shut down,” said OIELE. “It is time for those who have operated as parasites all these years to answer for that.”
The federation provided a list of 38 schools which it claims were given licenses even though they owed large amounts in tax, social security contributions and wages.
