Independent Greeks MP appointed to Transport post

Independent Greeks MP Marina Chrysoveloni was sworn in as the new alternate transport minister on Wednesday, replacing Panayiotis Sgouridis.

The latter tendered his resignation last week after suggesting in a radio interview that Alexis Tsipras had knowingly lied to farmers while he was the opposition leader.

The prime minister accepted his resignation on Tuesday.

Chrysoveloni is also the spokeswoman for Independent Greeks.
